
Eligibility Criteria
To serve as an Election Worker, you must be a District of Columbia resident who is at least 16 years of age and who either attends or has graduated from a public or private secondary school or an institution of higher education.*
Election Workers are required to have a valid email address and cell phone number.
To serve as a Site Coordinator, you must be a registered voter.*
*Residency and registration requirements DO NOT apply to District government employees.
Selection Process
Election Workers are selected as positions become available at Vote Centers throughout the District of
Columbia. If selected, you will be contacted by our staff a few months prior to the election. Not all applicants are selected to serve,
and an Election Worker is not assured an assignment at the Voter Center(s) nearest to their home.
Work Requirements. Election Workers must:
- Complete at least four hours of training prior to EACH election for which they serve.
- Report to their assigned Vote Center to set up on the Monday before an election. $35 is deducted from the stipend for failing to report to the Vote Center setup.
- Work at the assigned Vote Center on Election Day from 6 a.m. until released by the Site Coordinator (approximately 10:30 pm.)
